On the right, the same dark mountain is recognisable in both photographs but the glacier is noticeably much deeper in 1939, with far less of the mountain slope visible.

Included in the album are some postcards showing interior features that were probably beyond the capability of the camera they had with them. There is also a map of the mountain railway which runs to near the top of the Jungfrau. Pip and Jim have conveniently added the heights in feet to the given ones in metres.
